Kids Reading Corner

My kids LOVE reading, and I find that books really bring families together. Here are some of our favorite books! We add a new one each week.

The Jolly Christmas Postman
By Janet Ahlberg

402026 I found this book in a local bookstore this week and was SO excited! I used to read this book when I was a kid, and it brought back so many fond memories. The book is about a postman who delivers letters to favorite nursery rhyme characters. The best part is that you can actually go into the envelopes he delivers and look at what everyone got for Christmas! I really love this book!

Freight Train
by Donald Crews

734542I got this book for my son Jack at the library because he loves trains. He read it the entire week we had it and had it memorized by the second day. It’s a simple book, but it tells you all about trains. There are lots of bright colors and really unique illustrations. Simple. But nice. This book is on my to buy list!

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear
by Don Wood and Audrey Wood

682920This is one of my ALL TIME favorite books. My mom and dad used to read it to me when I was little, and I kept it so that I could read it to my kids. Which, I now do. The illustrations are beautiful and I find the story to be very engaging. What will the mouse do to save his strawberry from the bear? I highly recommend you read it and find out!
