This year for Mother’s Day, I was lucky enough to be able to attend Heritage Park’s Day Out With Thomas event. I’ve seen advertisements for years, but this was the first year I was able to to attend. The event is considered a ‘special’ event that is put on through Heritage Park, so you have to pre-purchase tickets. Special note on this – do it early! They sell out pretty quickly as tickets are limited. If you have an annual pass, you still have to purchase tickets!
The event includes a ride on the train that Thomas leads as well as a bunch of fun Thomas themed activities. We saw Sir Topham Hat, played with trains, listened to live entertainment, did crafts and listened to an interactive story about Thomas. There were also Thomas videos you could watch, and they played lots of Thomas music throughout the park.
I have to say, it was a really great event. It was nice that they limited tickets because the park was busy, but not crazy. Lines were short, which was really nice! (for anyone familiar with heritage park, there was a VERY short line to the bakery!) The kids had a blast watching Thomas go round and round, and they enjoyed activities like playing at the park and running through the mazes. And who doesn’t like meeting Thomas and riding the train!?!
All three of my children loved the Thomas event that Heritage Park put on, and it was a really great day to spend mothers day with my family.
